Our third annual Springfest Downtown Sanford German Street Party will be held Saturday April 6th and Sunday April 7th. The outdoor festival will feature German food from Hollerbach’s Willow Tree Café, German beer and wine, and entertainment by the Alex Meixner Band  - with special guests "Polka King" Jan Lewan on Saturday - and Hollerbach’s regular musical duo Jimmy and Eckhard

Just like in Germany, ours will be essentially a spring version of Oktoberfest, complete with sausages, pretzels, beer, polka music, people dancing in Lederhosen and Dirndls…the idea is to re-create an Oktoberfest beer-tent sort of experience, only it’s right here in Magnolia Square! Our previous festivals have been such a hit with everybody, especially our last Oktoberfest (click here for pictures!) - there's something about the atmosphere here in Sanford's historical district that really lends itself to making outdoor events like ours a lot of fun. It’s all about Gemütlichkeit – a German word that can be translated a number of ways, but we define it as the overall sense of well-being you experience while enjoying good food and drink among friends and family.

 

Tickets - we call them Hollerbucks - will be required for all of our special event outdoor food and drink at Springfest . Outdoor food and beverage locations will not be accepting cash or credit cards - Hollerbucks will be available to purchase onsite the day of the event (cash or charge) at special ticket stands, or in advance by returning here to hollerbachs.com/shop when tickets go on sale. We discovered during past events that this system works much better than accepting cash or cards at each location - and it works even better if you get your tickets in advance!

BTW: Our Willow Tree Café German restaurant, Magnolia Square Market deli, and Outfitters Trachtenwear shop will be open with regular operating hours during Springfest - Hollerbucks tickets will not be required at these locations, just for the outdoor event.
