The Hollerbach’s Has Heart charitable organization was created in 2019 with the main goal of providing scholarships and grants to hospitality folks to pursue education and/or business certifications. But with the global pandemic, and the shockwave it sent through our industry, we realize the need was even more dire. This is why we decided to move up the launch date and we need your help to make it happen.
The hospitality and tourism industry is the backbone of Sanford and the entire state of Florida. Without the millions of service industry workers, our economy is a fraction of what it is today. With that said, we are doing everything to keep our doors open, and our staff working. We are following the state and federal guidelines to regarding essential personnel and public gatherings as best we can.
In the meantime, we have had to make extremely hard decisions, including reducing our beloved staff temporarily from 100 to 48 employees. My staff is my family, and these decisions were difficult to make because we understand how precious jobs are at this time.
But these decisions were made with a promise. I vow that I will not allow any of our people lose the roof over their heads or go without essentials. Those that are staying on, are determined to help, all tips being collected from curbside orders are going towards this charity so that we can issue grants back to staff that are in need. We have also launched a “General Store” for staff to assist in reduced prices and less trips out in public.
Please help us take care of my family so we can be reunited and continue to provide Gemütlichkeit in the months to come and beyond. You can help by visiting our re-opened Willow Tree dining room and bar, ordering takeout at hollerbachs.com/ordernow, visiting deli or folk costume shop, or just by donating now.
